The New Year's celebration at Seattle's space needle reminded me that the Jetsons had a lot of space needle-like structures in their neighborhood of Orbit City.

The Seattle Space Needle was completed in December 1961 in time for opening of the Seattle World's Fair on April 21st 1962.
"The Jetsons" premiered on September 1, 1962.
