I've mentioned this before but if you need to make a quick PDF conversion and don't have Adobe Acrobat PDF Online works great for small files. I haven't tried anything too big and I wouldn't send anything I didn't want the public to read to a public server to be converted, but for just regular everyday PDF conversion it seems to work just fine.
The thing that surprised me about their blog is that the application resides on a simple desktop computer. I was picturing a room full of servers and blinking lights or something.
