RM Brown - Funny Funny Guy

RM Brown is an online comedian with a dedicated group of followers who appreciate his quirky good-hearted sense of humor. I've found his YouTube and Patreon videos to be a great way to learn about political figures/influencers that I can't bear to listen to.

His humor is a mix of very juvenile fart jokes, in-group jokes, goofy voices, sound effects and serious political commentary (but not serious in a depressing way). I think he's very creative and not afraid to explore various forms of humor.

RM Brown’s form of humor is somewhat similar to Tim Heidecker’s universe of humor, and the humorous characters he works with, in that there is a lot of lore, background stories and inside jokes that make it fun and funny. RM hasn’t reached the Heidecker level of surrounding himself with actual funny humans but he manages to create some funny stuff with puppets and various AI characters he has created.

If your idea of humor is watching Joe Rogan squeal while he pretends to fuck a chair, Tony Hinchcliff say tranny or retard, or back in the old days Andrew Dice Clay say he left his woman because she couldn’t take a punch…you probably won’t find RM, Tim Heidecker or critiques from The Elephant Graveyard very appealing.

Speaking of humor, if you haven’t watched Larry David’s “Life Larry and the Pursuit of Happiness” on HBO I’d definitely recommend it. There are some incredibly funny skits. I particularly liked the one with Bill Hader as Lincoln, Larry as a political aide and Kathryn Hahn as Mary Todd Lincoln.

Finally I’d just like to say I was sorry to see Jim Bakker passed away this week. Mainly because it’s more fun to laugh at criminal grifter ministers like Jim while they are still around.

Wake Up Seattle

I like the old-school vibe of these “Wake Up Seattle” videos. They remind me of the un-curated, random sort of things you’d see in the early days of the internet.

It has some relationship to the production values of skits on the old Seattle “Almost Live” show (which to me has some classic funny bits from a time when people were less angry and more capable of laughing at themselves.) Portlandia has some of that point of view where people are making fun of things they love…or something.

“Wake Up Seattle” isn’t making fun of anyone it’s just Alex walking around Seattle striking up conversations. It’s refreshing, sometimes funny and interesting to see actual people just talking. In this episode I learned something about amateur hockey, pickleball  and that Green Lake is a human-made lake built to hold all the goose shit in Seattle.

K Strass -Yo-Yo Master

There's something hilarious and humanizing about people who can laugh at themselves. I love K Strass's ability to be funny at his own expense.

The universe of comedy that Mark Proksch is involved in is so great and so different than some "comedians" whose specialty is punching down and who are so insecure they can never laugh at themselves. It's one of the reasons right-wing comedy can never be funny.

If you are into dividing people into two categories there are people who can laugh at themselves and those who can’t.

I think being able to be really funny requires a certain honesty and fearlessness, including recognizing the tragedy of the human-condition and still saying, fuck it we might as well have some laughs.

Speaking of comedy, I just finished the book "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. It's got some super funny dialogue and interestingly weird characters.

“A Confederacy of Dunces” was rejected by multiple publishers while Toole was living. It was published 11 years after his death thanks to his mother's efforts.

John Kennedy Toole committed suicide in 1961. He was 31 years old. The book won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1981.

I Used to Read a Lot

100% man. Now you can read like hundreds of books in a few weeks. Reading is way easier now than in the old days when you had to wear out your eyes and think and stuff.

Just ask Z.ai or Gem or Claude or whatever machine you prefer. The machine tells you what to think about a book. The machines thoughts become your thoughts - which means you have read the book.

Don't believe that? Just ask Perplexity.

Unknowable philosophers have told tiny Jo that this kind of knowledge is a walled garden of delights where naysayers are actually just jealous dweebs, libtards and cucks.

Machine reading will leave you more time to kick your heavy bag, smoke cigars and weed and tell shocking jokes about fatties, retards, trannies, weirdos and beardos.

Note - We're talkin about the woke weak low-t fatties, weirdos and beardos not the cool tough fatties like Trunk, genius weirdos like Eloon  or dope beardos like J.D. Vance, Don Jr. or Matt Walsh.
